Question: Is the Popular Doctrine correct or is the original scripture correct?

POP-DOC ‘Book-Mark’ [Jeremiah
Chapter 33 verse 25-26]
ORIGINAL:
Jer 33:25 So says Jehovah: If My covenant
is not with day and night, and if I have not given the ordinances of the
heavens and the earth, v:26 then I will cast away the
seed of Jacob, and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to
be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will bring
back their captivity, and have mercy on them.
REPLACEMENT:
Jer 33:25 So says
Jehovah: If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not
given the ordinances of the heavens and the earth, v:26 then I will
cast away the seed of Jacob, and David My
servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity, and

REASON:
Popular Doctrine acknowledges this verse was spoken
to King David! BUT His descendants were defeated and ceased to exist! (Refer Jer
52:10-11). Therefore
parts of this verse MUST be removed from scripture!
