INTRODUCTION
The bible is full of promises God has made to individuals
and to nations. Some have conditions that must be observed or God cannot comply
with the promise. Some are clearly unconditional, and it is these types of
prophecies spoken in relation to Israel that I wish to discuss in this lesson.
AIM -- Is to find some of the unconditional
promises to Israel, which over the past 2500 years or so, should be fulfilled
by now!
REASON
1: - It is extremely important
to understand what God is doing in the ‘End Days’ in relation to Israel, and
2: - These
unconditional promises help us identify Israel in the end days.
REVISION -- In
my last lesson we talked about how to identify and distinguish between “Jews,
Israelites and Gentiles”,
covering: -
The crossed hand blessing of Ephraim and Manasseh. So in the
later days ‘A Company of Nations’ and a ‘Great Nation’ must appear!
Gods promise for Israel is to have a “safe new place”. And
Gods promise to David is he would have an everlasting lineage and throne.
God separates 10 Tribes from David’s throne. Then we have
TWO separate kingdoms “House of Israel” and the “House of Judah”.
The fall of Israel, ALL plus some of Judah taken by Assyria
to modern Armenia. The fall of Judah and Jerusalem, most taken to Babylon.
Zedekiah’s daughters are still alive and not in the
captivity. Royal line still lives. One of them, Tamar is married into the Irish
Royal line.
The Return From Babylon. Ezra states only the Jews returned.
And Josephus says ALL “the people of Israel remained” in Media
We looked
at scriptures that identified that the Northern Kingdom was still outside the
area of Palestine. In John, Corinthians and James.
The 7 times punishment, started 603, finished 2520 years
later in 1917; General Allenby took Jerusalem “without firing a short”.
Indicating the English are not gentiles, but are of Israel stock! So somewhere
in the world now are “a Company of Nations”, and “a Great Nation”
Which would have to be the, British Commonwealth and The
USA. With the Dutch and Scandinavian’s also somewhat related.

LESSON
LESSON
I have an interesting question for you!
If a prophet of God speaks a prophecy that he received from
God, is God obligated to fulfil that prophecy? [Yes, No or Maybe]?
OK lets have an open discussion about this, what are your
thoughts? What scriptures can you think of?
Q & A -----
CONDITIONAL PROMISES
CONDITIONAL PROMISES
Some prophecies have “strings attached”, conditions that
must be obeyed or consequences will follow. Remember in my last lesson, I
mentioned the promise to David. His descendants to have “a continuous
family line”. An everlasting kingdom with a proviso God will punish his
descendants if they don’t obey God’s laws. 2 Sam. 7:12-17: -
12“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with
your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body,
and I will establish his kingdom. 13“He shall build a house for My
name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14“I
will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will
chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 15“But
My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I
removed from before you. 16“And your house and your kingdom shall be
established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever. 17According
to all these … so Nathan spoke to David.”
There are dozens of prophecies with “strings attached”.
Phrases to look for are, “If, but, or, and”, which indicate the conditions that
God places on the person or nation He is blessing or cursing. Eg “Repent or….’.
The prophecy above in verse 14 has a condition attached to it, “If he commits iniquity”, be good or else! Then in
verse 15 But “My
mercy..”, and in verse 16 “And your house.. shall be.. forever!”
So we can see that David shall always have a descendant! Also his throne, “Your throne shall be established
forever”. This in itself is an amazing statement! Basically no matter what evil
David’s descendants stoop to, God will preserve his throne and his
lineage. WOW!!
Q & A -----
UNCONDITIONAL PROMISES
Go to e-Sword and do a search for the phrases, “might be fulfilled”, or “prophet,
saying” there are dozens of them, eg.
Matt. 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
of the Lord by the prophet, saying…..
You kind of get the impression that Jesus had to do all
these weird things just because the prophets of old said it would happen that
way. The likes of ‘riding into town on a donkey’, ‘speaking in parables’ and
‘up and move house a few time till he settles in Nazareth’. Simply because he
was to be call a Nazarene, why couldn’t he have just been born in Nazareth?
When you get a chance, go to each of those verses and back
reference to what the prophet said. You would find that they are unconditional
prophecies, no strings attached. The prophecies in no uncertain term state that
only the Messiah would be doing this action, and by them, we could identify
Him.
For example, at the birth of Christ, the angel said in Luke
2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. v12 And this shall be a sign
unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying
in a manger.”
You can be very sure that God would see to it that on that
particular night there was no other baby in swaddling clothe, in a manger, in
Bethlehem, so that there was no confusion. Has anyone seen the film “The Life
of Brian”? In that comedy: Brian, often just happened to be
in the same place at the same time as Christ, and the three wise men accidently wondered into
the wrong stable and manger. In reality we know that God is not the author of
confusion. Likewise, when the Lord describes a future characteristic about
Israel then we can be quite sure that no other nation would have that same
characteristic so that there is no confusion.
So what I
would like to do in this lesson is to hunt through the bible to find some of
the unconditional promises to Israel. And with each promise look at what it
must mean in this day and age, and the possible fulfillment. When we find these
prophecies there are two ways to analyze the application of the scripture to
Israel. You are welcome to try either of the following methods at your lesser
later.
One is to
assess the scriptures, and then try to find one or more nations to which it
could apply. Then sort out the one nation that fits all!
Two is to start with a nation we assume fits the bill; then
test each scripture to see if the assumption is still correct!
I think the later is the easiest. If we find a scripture
that doesn’t fit; then start with some other nation. Lets start with Britain
and USA
Also the promises to Israel are to a nation, NOT to the ‘the
body of Christ’! They don’t make sense if you apply them to the church.

I am basically copying a large portion of the booklet, "The
Marks of Israel". So, I give all credit to Mr Henry D. Houghton who wrote this
some 80 years ago!! I have also given some of the scriptures to which he
refers, and my comments are in brackets.
1---Israel to become a great and mighty nation. Gen. 18:18
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the
nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? (Strong’s refer. “From H1431;
great (in any sense); hence older; also insolent”, and for might is, “Passive
participle of H6105; powerful (specifically a paw); by implication numerous”.
Insolent or ‘stiff necked’. God has described Israel in that way. Powerful and
‘as the sands of the sea’. Compare The Anglo-Saxon people numerically with the
rest of the world, (excluding China), they far out number them. The ‘Great’ and
the ‘Might’ nation have protected the world from tyranny for centuries)
2---Israel’s name to be “Great”. Gen. 12:2 And I will make
of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and
thou shalt be a blessing:(‘Great’ Britain, the only nation that uses the word
‘Great’ as part of her name.)
3---Israel is to be exceeding fruitful. Gen. 28:14, Gen.
49:22, Gen. 49:26, Num. 23:10, Isa. 10:22, Hos. 1:10, Zec. 10:8 and
Isa. 27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take
root; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
(If the word fruit is taken literally, then America is one of the largest food
producers in the world. If we broaden the meaning to supply in abundance, then
that is also true. If we consider spiritual fruit, well yes again, for the
world revival started in England and America.)
4---Israel was to spread abroad in this order; west – east –
north then south. Gen 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and
thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to
the south; and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be
blessed. (How did Great Britain expand across the world? First she went west to
the American east coast. Then she went east to India, then north into Canada.
Finally she went south to Australia and New Zealand.)
Please note before we go any further that the Jews are not
in the picture at all; and that these four identities wipe out every nation
under the sun but those of British stock. (These national properties show us
that the Jews of today are not the Israel God is talking about in the later
days. To understand God’s plan for the Jews of today, we need to look at
prophecies about “Judah”, or the “House of Judah”)
This might be a bit hard to swallow, but the Jews of the world have a vastly different role to play in Gods Big plan. I admit that SOME of these prophecies seem as though they have been fulfilled by the Jews. But I feel that if we accept that as the posable fulfilment, then we are limiting the vast scope of what God is speaking about. He is most often speaking of mighty global nation, and the Jews of the world just do not seem to fit that picture.
5---Israel was to have a Davidic King. Jer. 33:17, 21, 26,
Eze. 37:24, 2Sam. 7:13, 29, Psa. 89:20 to 37. Jer. 33:20 Thus saith the LORD;
If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that
there should not be day and night in their season;
Jer. 33:21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my
servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the
Levites the priests, my ministers.
6---Israel to be the first of the nations. Gen. 49:22-26,
Deu. 4:7, Deu. 14:2, Deu. 26:19, Deu. 28:13, Jer. 31:7. Deu. 14:2 For thou art
an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a
peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
7---Israel to continue as a nation forever. 2 Sam. 7:16, 24,
29. 1 Chr. 17:22-27. Jer. 31:35-37.
2Sa 7:24 For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people
Israel to be a people unto thee for ever; and thou, LORD, art become their God.
FOR EVER! That
means it continues even into God’s eternity! How? Well bear with me for a bit here.
Remember in Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, he dreamed of a stone hitting
the statue at its feet etc. then the interpretation is given. Dan. 2:44 “And in
the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall
never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it
shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.” The progression through the statue shows, two legs, then feet and ten toes. Logic tells us that Rome
fell and was followed by the ten kingdoms of Europe! The pope knocked out three
kingdoms, leaving only seven. In Num. 23:9 God speaks of Israel, we assume to
be England, as, “the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be counted among
the nations.” So, England is not included in the ten kingdoms.
Daniel's prophecy states that “in the day of these kings” God
will set up a kingdom. Well England rose up independent of papal Europe; and
America and the Commonwealth joined her later. She took on the Spanish Armada
first, then the French and Napoleon and Russians in the Crimea. Germans and
Italians were conquered later in WWII. That was the bulk of the remaining seven
kingdoms. In WWI she took on the Turks, which was the remnant of the
“Medo-Persian” Empire. The Greeks joined her as allies during WWII.
So where are the Anglo-Saxon people fighting now? (As of 2015). We are now
fighting the remnant of the Babylonian Empire! Through all those centuries what
are we trying to achieve, a righteous government. Today we call it democracy.
Freedom of speech and freedom of religion. (And we are only human, and we may not always get it right!) When Christ returns, He will ascend
to the throne of David and continue the development of a righteous world. So,
Daniel saw from the stone right through to the mountain, which covered nearly
500 years and “forever”. “thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for
ever!
Q & A -----
8---Israel to dwell alone. Deu. 33:28. Num. 23:9 For from
the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him; lo, the people
shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
9---Israel was to have a new home. 2 Sam. 7:10. 1Ch. 17:9
Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they
shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the
children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
10---Israel’s home is to be North West of Palestine. Jer.
3:18. Isa. 49:12 Behold, these shall come from far; and, lo, these from the
north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
11---Israel’s home is uninvadable. 2 Sam 7:10 Isa. 41:11 to
14 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and
confounded; they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall
perish.
12---Israel to be undefeatable defended by God. Isa.
54:15-17, Mic. 5:8 Num. 24:8-9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a
great lion; who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed
is he that curseth thee.
13---Israel like a Lion. Num. 24:9, Num 23:24 Behold, the
people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion; he
shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
14---Israel to have control of the sea and be the Great
Naval Power of the world. Num. 24:7, Deu. 33:19, Isa. 60:5, Psa. 89:25 I will
set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
15---Israel to have a land of great mineral wealth. Deu.
33:15-19 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the
precious things of the lasting hills,
16---Israel to have a land of great agricultural wealth.
Deu. 33:13-14. Deu. 33:28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone; the fountain
of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop
down dew.
17---Israel to be rich by trading. Deu. 8:9, Isa. 60:5-11,
Isa. 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD; men shall call you the
Ministers of our God; ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their
glory shall ye boast yourselves.
18---Israel to be envied and feared by all nations. Deu.
2:25, Deu. 4:8, Deu. 28:10, Isa. 43:4. Isa. 60:10-12, Mic. 7:16-17, Jer. 33:9.
19---Israel to have Great Colonies, or become a Company of
Nations. Gen. 17:4, 6, 15, 16. Gen. 48:19 Gen. 35:11 And God said unto him, I
am God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations
shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
20---Israel to lose a Colony, and then increase demanding
more room. Isa. 49:20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the
other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give
place to me that I may dwell. (America was a British Colony until the war of
independence. Then after 1776 the British had to expand elsewhere in the
world. So, she poured her strength into her other colonies, like Canada, India,
Australia, New Zealand, South and East Africa and many other smaller colonies.
This prophecy would be very difficult to apply to some other nation other than
The British Commonwealth. No other Commonwealth in the world prides itself as
much as they do when they hold the Commonwealth Games, it shows the loving
union and the loyalty to the Crown; “The Thrown of David”.)
21---Israel to lend to other Nations, borrowing of none.
Deu. 15:6, Deu. 28:12 'The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the
heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work
of thine hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not
borrow.' The Christian church is always lending! Gt. Britain has
borrowed from the U.S.A. in the last war, (Houghton wrote before WWII, so, he means WWI),
but they are our brothers. Even then England simply backed bills for our
allies; for America would not lend direct to them! (But now in 2014 when there
is so much borrowing going on it does make one wonder whether we have stooped
to such ‘SKULDUGGERY’ that our corruption is destroying us, and God's blessings!).
Q & A -----
22---Israel to reign over many Nations; be reigned over by
none! Deu. 15:6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee; and
thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt
reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
23---The indigenous people were to diminish before Israel.
Deu. 33:17, Jer. 46:28. Isa. 60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will not
serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
24---Israel was to possess the gates of his enemies. Gen.
22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply
thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea
shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
25---Israel was to have all the land he needed. Deu. 32:8
When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated
the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of
the children of Israel.
26---Israel was to possess the land from the Euphrates to
the uttermost sea. Deu. 11:24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall
tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the
river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
27---Israel was to be a people saved by the Lord. Deu.
33:7-29, Isa. 41:8-14, Isa. 43:1-8, Isa. 44:1-3, Isa. 44:25-26, Isa. 52:1-2,
Isa. 54:1-15, Jer. 46:27-28, Eze. 34:All, Hos. 2:23, Hos. 13:9-14, Hos. 14:4-6,
Mic. 6:6-13. Hos. 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have
mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were
not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
28---Israel was to live in the islands and the coasts of the
earth. Isa. 41:1-2, Isa. 49:1-3, Isa. 51:5, Jer. 31:7-10. Jer. 31:8 Behold, I
will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the
earth.
(Mr Houghton added
another 8 paragraphs to this Mark in a separate chapter. He points out in these
verses, that God is speaking to the people in the ‘isles’ and calling them, ‘my
servant Israel’, and that they are ‘hidden’ and for them to ‘wait’, ‘renew
their strength’ and in ‘mine arm shall they trust’. Now Isaiah was writing this
address to the House of Israel at the very time they were all carried away to
Assyria, never to return! So who are these people of Israel stock, that are far
off in the isles? They could be the colonies in Ireland and Britain that where
established, as is believed, by Solomon to supply tin and silver, which was
mined there for centuries. If that was correct, then it would make a lot more
sense that only 130 years later at the fall of Jerusalem, Jeremiah took the
daughters of Zedekiah to Ireland.)
Q & A -----
29---Israel was to have a New Language. Isa. 28:11 For with
stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. The Bible, by
means of which God speaks now to Israel is in English, not Hebrew. (Houghton is
correct here since English is the language of the Anglo-Saxon people around the
world, who are by decent Israel. Yet the passage does infer the gift of
tongues.)
30---Israel was to have a new Name. Isa. 62:2, Isa. 65:1,
15, Hos. 2:17. Isa. 65:15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen;
for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his
brother, saying, Know the LORD; for they shall all know me, from the least of
them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their
iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
32---Israel was to lose all trace of her lineage. Hos.
1:9-10, Hos. 2:17, Isa. 42:16. Hos. 2:6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy
way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
33---Israel was to keep Sabbath forever. Ex. 31:13-17, Isa.
58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on
my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure,
nor speaking thine own words; Isa. 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the
LORD; and I will ….
34---Two Great Rival Nations were to spring from Joseph.
Gen. 48:13, Gen. 48:20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall
Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh; and he set
Ephraim before Manasseh.
35---Israel was to have a Heathen Empire. Ps. 111:5-6, Psa.
149:2-8. Psa. 111:6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he
may give them the heritage of the heathen.
36---Israel was to be the Custodian of the Oracles of God.
Psa. 147:19-20. Isa. 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the
LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth,
shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of
the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
37---Israel was to be a People glorying in Christ. Isa.
41:16, Rom. 11:26-27, John 11:52, Luke 2:32, Not the Jews, see 1 Pet. 2:7-8.
1Pet. 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious; but unto them which
be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,
38---Israel was to carry the Gospel to all the world. Gen.
28:14, Isa. 43:21, Mic. 5:7, Witnesses, Isa. 43:10-12; Not church, see verse
14.
Isa. 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant
whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am
he; before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (The
British and Foreign Bible Society and now the USA joined them in the largest
gospel distribution ever from 1800’s to now).

the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not
depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the
LORD that hath mercy on thee.
40---Israel will not be found in Circumcision. Circumcision
was a sign of the Old Covenant. Israel will be found under the New Covenant!
Heb. 8:6-9, Heb. 9:17, Acts 15:10, Gal. 3:13. Circumcision abolished, Acts
15:19,29. Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come,
saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and
with the house of Judah:
41---Israel was to be kind to the poor. Due. 15:7-11. Deu.
15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore I command thee,
saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to
thy needy, in thy land.
Q & A -----
42---Israel was to be the Refuge of the downtrodden, the
Liberator of the Slaves. Isa. 49:8-9. Isa. 49:9 That thou mayest say to the
prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall
feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
43---Israel is described as “Drunken”. Isa. 28:1-7. Isa.
28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of
the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are
swallowed up of wine, …
44---Israel was to be called or named after Isaac. Gen.
21:12, Amos 7:16, Rom. 9:7 “Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are
they all children; but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called”. ‘Saxons’ is a
corruption or shortening of the words, Isaac’s sons or Saac’s sons.
45---Israel was to be a Kingdom of Priests, a Holy Nation to
the Lord. Ex. 19:6, Deut. 7:6, Lev. 20:26, Isa. 61:6, Isa. 62:12, The whole
Nation are there called to be Priests. Exo 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a
kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt
speak unto the children of Israel.
46---Israel was to pray towards Jerusalem. 1 Kings 8.
Solomon commanded it, and so prayed, see 2 Chron. 6:21-26. 2Ch 6:26 When the
heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee;
yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their
sin, when thou dost afflict them;
47---The Nation was the Church. The whole people good or bad
formed the Assembly, the Congregation; so is it with our National Church today.
48---Our singular name, “Great Britain”. Brit or Brith, is
Hebrew for Covenant, it is also Welsh for the same. ‘Britain’ is Covenant land;
‘British’ is Covenant Man!
49---Israel or Joseph, Must have possession of the stone of
Israel. Gen. 49:22-26. Gesenius translates verse 24 as “From that time he
(Joseph) kept the stone of Israel”. Gen 49:24 But his bow abode in strength,
and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of
Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
50---Israel was to deliver Jerusalem in the last days. Eze.
25:14, Eze. 36:8-12, Luke 21:24. Eze.
25:14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people
Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my
fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.
Q & A -----
51---Israel’s New Home was to be filled with the treasures
of the Gentiles. Isa. 60:5, 16, Isa. 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of
the LORD; men shall call you the Ministers of our God; ye shall eat the riches
of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
52---Israel’s Teachers, Pastors and Shepherds were to be
blind. Eze. 34:1-16, People ditto, Isa. 42:16-20, Isa. 43:8. Isa. 42:19 Who is
blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he
that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?
53---Israel was to colonize the desolate places of the
earth. Isa. 49:8, Isa. 54:3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on
the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities
to be inhabited.
(Numerous translations give “desolate cities”, as ruined,
uninhabited or deserted cities. This was the case when the Picts, Jutes, Danes,
Celts, Anglo and Saxons migrated into Britain; they found all the vacated Roman
villages. These different tribal groups where actually parts of Israel which
had become scattered across Europe. Back ground for this is in the References
“A, B and E” listed above.)
54---Israel was to encompass or Girdle the Earth. Deut.
32:8-9, Jer. 10:16, Jer. 51:19, Pas.74:2, Isa. 60:11-12. Deu 32:8 When the most
High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of
Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children
of Israel. Deu 32:9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of
his inheritance.
55---Israel’s return is to be, among other places, from
Australia. Isa. 49:12, A.V. says “Land of Sinim”, the Vulgate says “Terra
Australis” (Strongs’ gives ‘Sinim”, word number H5515 ‘see-neem’, as “Plural of
an otherwise unknown name; Sinim, a distant Oriental region.” Other
translations give the meaning as ‘south country’ and if we add ‘Plural’ to
that, we could come up with the possibility that it means all the countries of
the Commonwealth south of the Equator.)
56---The Lord undertakes to fight against all who fight
against Israel. Isa. 41:8-14 Isa. 49:25-26, Isa. 52:12, Isa. 54:15-17. Isa.
49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they
shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall
know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
57---Israel’s seed were to be honoured among the Gentiles.
Isa. 61:4-9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their
offspring among the people; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they
are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
58---Israel was to possess God’s Holy Spirit as well as His
Word. Isa. 44:3, Hagg. 2:5. Isa. 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with
them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have
put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of
thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from
henceforth and for ever.
59---Israel to be Gentle and Magnanimous in Victory. 1Ki
20:31 And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings
of the house of Israel are merciful kings:… (I would add this verse; 2Sa 23:3
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men
must be just, ruling in the fear of God.)
60---Those that blessed Israel were to be blessed, and those
that cursed Israel were to be cursed. Gen. 12:3, Num 24:9 He couched, he lay
down as a lion, and as a great lion; who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that
blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
Q & A -----
61---Israel is to be the Chief opponent of the Antichrist at
Armageddon. Eze. 38, Eze. 39. Most commentators agree that this is Great
Britain’s part. (NB: Houghton wrote this booklet in 1933, the commentators he
would have at hand, would have been written years before, possibly pre 1900.
America briefly came to power in WWI, then in WWII she “stamped her feet” as a
Major Power. These passages would also have to include the Commonwealth and the
USA).
62---Israel is to be the heir of the World. Rom. 4:13.
Through faith not the Law. If through the Law, then the Jews would be the
heirs. See Isa. 60:21, F. Fenton’s translation of Zeph. 3:19 (I don’t have a
copy of Fenton’s translation, but if you do I would love to see it). Rom. 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the
heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but
through the righteousness of faith.
63---Israel to be God’s Glory. Isa. 46:13, Isa. 49:3, Isa.
60:1-2. Isa. 49:3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I
will be glorified.
64---Israel is to call an unknown nation, and unknown
nations are to run to Israel. Isa. 55:5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that
thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of
the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
65---Israel is to Pride Herself in the lifting up of the
Nations. Isa. 49:8-9, Isa. 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD;
men shall call you the Ministers of our God; ye shall eat the riches of the
Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
66---Israel is to be sown in the earth. Hos. 2:23, Jer.
31:27, Amos 9:9, Zec. 10:9 And I will sow them among the people; and they shall
remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn
again.
67---Israel is to punish Edom, “Turkey”, in the last days.
Isa. 11:14, Eze. 25:14, Amos 9:12, Obad. 1:18. Eze. 25:14 And I will lay my
vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom
according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my
vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.
68---Israel is to break in pieces the Nations. Num. 23:24,
Num. 24:8-9, Jer. 51:19-24, Dan. 2:44, Mic. 5:8. Dan. 2:44 And in the days of
these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be
destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall
break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
(Jer. 51:19-24 is the lengthy passage, “my battle axe and weapons of war, with
thee shall I break down kingdoms, etc. This shows that Israel will do all the
destruction for the Lord. Daniel is talking about the “stone was cut out
without hands” and the Stone Kingdom doing the same destructive work. Since God
told Christ, “sit at My right hand till I make your enemies Your foot stool”,
then the “stone” cannot be Christ. The “stone” must be someone else, some other
servant of the Lord, it has to be Israel.
Q & A -----
69---Israel is the Nation appointed to bring glory to God.
Isa. 41:8-16, Isa. 43:10 & 21, Isa. 44:23, Isa. 49:3, Isa. 60:21 Thy people
also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of
my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
70---Israel’s people to be established in righteousness. (I
found Psa 99:4), Isa. 45:25, Isa. 54:14, Rom. 11:26 And so all Israel shall be
saved as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall
turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
71---Israel to remain in ignorance of her special
relationship to God, until the great revealing comes. Isa 42:19; Eze. 39:7; 22;
Eze. 39:28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them
to be led into captivity among the heathen but I have gathered them unto their
own land, and have left none of them any more there.
72---Israel’s soldiers in the later days to be in scarlet
uniforms. Nahum 2:3-4. Nah 2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the
valiant men are in scarlet the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the
day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
(We have all seen advertisements for the guards at
Buckingham Palace and The Canadian Mounted Police. What colour uniform do they
wear? Interesting isn’t it!)
More Passages of Identification of Israel
Zephaniah 3:10 --- Imagine you’re him and The Spirit fills your mouth with this, “From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.” They are Israel, “my dispersed”, but where are they on the map? At the time of Zephaniah, Ethiopia was a large Empire well south and down near the upper reaches of the Nile. So who is south of that area in modern day? They are all the African-British Commonwealth nations. AND the South Africans! The Bores are of Dutch Stock, also Israel’s people.

Matthew 21:43 Jesus was talking to the chief priests
and Pharisees saying, “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be
taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits
thereof.” The Kingdom WILL NOT be going to a ‘body of people’, the Church! The
church is not a NATION! Israel has the only right to it. What Nation could that
possibly be, if it’s not the Commonwealth and U.S.A.?
CONCLUSION
These passages show us that God is clearly not talking about
the Jews, but some other people that He calls His own, and He has mighty work
for them to do in the world before He returns to start the Millennium. These
are just a hand full! I have another OLD booklet giving 400 scriptures to
identify Israel in these ‘later days’. You can do your own study if you like
via the bible on computer, key words to look for are, House of Israel, Jacob,
my servant, dispersed and so on. You’ll get the hang of it.
Hope you enjoyed the subject, and I will be happy to TRY to
answer some of your questions over a cuppa.
Thanks for attending.
